I’m going to make them all free. That’s the main point of this post. There’s a bit of explanation as well, but the important part is that any novellas I do for the foreseeable future will be available (in both PDF and epub format) for free.
Right, now, the explanation.
I’ve only done one novella so far (the critical darling that is Hair of the Dog) but I’ve always intended to do more in between novels. Thing is, I’m feeling in more of a shorter form mood these days, so I figure my output for a while will be more novella-y than novel-y. They’re quicker to write, quicker to read, and a good way for you and others to get a sense of what and how I write.
Which doesn’t really work if you have to pay for them. So they’ll be free. You’ll be able to buy them all on Amazon as well, if you want to chuck the odd penny my way, but they’ll be absolutely free, forever, from this site.
And now the sneaky, underhanded, ulterior motive. If you read one and happen to like it… Would you mind sharing it with a friend? I mean, you don’t have to, but I would appreciate it.
Anyway, that’s it. Free ebooks. Starting with Hair of the Dog, soon to be followed by something else (once I get over a hurdle), and then, quite possibly, another warlocks novella that I have been stalling over for ages now.
This incident got a mention in Lore and Order, and I figured it could do with fleshing out a bit. So I did. Hope you like it!
I wrote a short today. Progress has been slow on the long form stuff, but this came to me fully formed so why not.
I hope you like it.
The point was to try and get a sneaky commission out of the Shadowrun people.
Don’t think it worked, but I really like the thing I wrote anyway, so I figured I’d put it up here 🙂
It’s only the first chapter, courtesy of Tall Tale TV, but I think it’s pretty excellent, yeah?
I used to think I was bad at dialogue, and maybe I am. Ultimately, you’re judged on your work by the people that read it. Hopefully, you are people who have read my work and if you haven’t, maybe you will.
In either case, I’m going to give you my approach to doing dialogue in prose, because I like to think I’m special and have worked out something very important. And it’s my blog so ner ner nerner ner.
Hello you lot! I done a new book!
I’ve been promising a proper Warlocks sequel for ages, and it’s finally here. Jameson Parker, America, Vampires. It’s good. Promise.
You can check out an extract over here if you want. Or go straight to Amazon to get an ebook or print!
I’m of a mind to do some short form stuff, and seeing as I haven’t updated this site for a while because I’m a trash bag carefully sculpted to look like a human, I should probably combine the two.
So, I’m going to give you my pitch on a Fantastic Four film, because nothing I pitch you can be worse than what they’ve actually made.
Well, it *has* been a while since I was last here, hasn’t it? Well, I have a good reason for that, and here it is:
I wrote a sci-fi novel about people who live in giant cities that travel across a frozen planet. It’s also on sale right now, on Amazon, in delicious kindle form right this very second and now also in lovely dead-tree form!
Here are some links for you, if you’re interested.
